The lean, mean fighting machine Schwarzenegger meets the lean, green exciting Audi E-Tron

without comments

With California currently being the epicentre of environmentalism and the green car movement, Schwarzenegger takes a closer look at the Audi’s new battery powered Zero emission super car.

As a concept car that prides itself on working from four electronic motors and a lithium battery pack, it’s not surprising that the Californian governator was one of the first people to sit in the E-Tron with his action-packed background as the Terminator. Forgetting his over-powering size and squishing this into the compact Audi as opposed to a Hummer is one amusing fact, but realistically you would be more inclined to see this in an Audi dealer in west Sussex than see Schwarzenegger driving it.

Beyond its powerful electronic engine system, the striking visual design of the E-ton affirms its spot among the major leagues of sports cars. The e-tron runs to 62mph and takes 4.8 seconds, but rolling acceleration from 37-75 mph takes an impressive 4.1 seconds thanks to the e-tron’s massive amount of twist…. very oh la la!

Skoda a.ka. The Police Grandaddy

with one comment

I used to look at the police and recognise the Vauxhall Astra in a heartbeat- over the years the police car of choice has become the Skoda. Despite how much i like the Fabia Hatchback i cannot get the police image out of my head whenever i see a Skoda. Police are extremely intimidating and the Skoda has picked up on the scent. The image of the car portrays an old ‘sergeant type’ to me, with the grill looking like their moustache and aged judgement eyes that would really stare at you through the rear-view mirror, It’s a very intimidating car. Some police cars we have are quite the opposite, what with the London Metroploitan police owning a Lamborghini and the city smart cars. The Skoda is the granddad of the lot. The police must of been presented with some  very alluring Skoda offers, Dorset police drive nothing but these cars so i know they are some menacing meat.

why are used cars as expensive as new cars

without comments

So it just seems impossible these days to find a used car for sale that isn’t the cost of a new car?!

Where is the incentive to buy, honestly? Yeah we know the credit crunch is effecting a lot of people but when you raise your margin on the used cars your selling less of them as a result surely? Or perhaps its just a ploy to get people to take advantage of the scrappage scheme and buy a new car instead?

Christmas Credit Crunch

without comments

Its only 4 weeks till Christmas, what the hell is going on here?

Im still working on websites for clients that came on board back in August, which feels like last week, thought i’m pretty sure that’s not how the calender is set out. The website for Harwoods Group finally had its go live date and I got to do all the fantastic little development requests that were missed out of the project build.

When your working like this thought how can you get into town to buy any Christmas presents for anyone? Not only that, high-street shops barely exist any more, woolworths has dissapeared (thought they do have an online shop at http://www.woolworths.co.uk)you cant even buy anything in the town unless your shopping in luxury on Oxford street or some other big city high-street. See I have a slight predicament, I love buying things on-line but I always seem to choose Christmas eve to do any x-mas shopping… which is a huge problem when you can only really buy what you want to get people from on-line shops.

Who else does this? Waits till the last possible shopping day and then realises – holy crap I cant get anything delivered?

Hobbies are too expensive.

hobbyzone

Paintball - Everyone knows what that is don’t they? Even if they’ve never done it. Not many people have it has a hobby that do on the weekends though do they, because its so damn expensive. And really painful too, always remember the pain.

I went the other route, slightly less painful, slightly less expensive – but in my opinion WAY more fun. Replica weaponry, all the combat gear, 12 hour mil sim games. Those terms will strike  chord with people who know what im on about. Airsoft.

Kung POW Mother Scratchers

toyota verso newcastleLIGHTS OUT, guerilla radio.

Ive been listening to a mixture of John Williams, Hans Zimmer and now Tchaikovsky… it does some weird things to the brain that’s for sure. Its 11th of the 11th month in the year 2011. That’s not true, im writing this in 2009 but it doesn’t matter.

What does matter is the movie Total Recall led me to believe we would be taking trips to Mars, erasing our memories, dealing with mutant rebels and ripping the johnny cab drivers out of their sockets.

Instead we’re stuck with a Toyota Verso (looks alot like a Vauxhall Zafira doesnt it?) that gets re-badged 40 times between the wallowing automotive companies desperately clawing at anything that looks like it will sell to anyone with a heartbeat.

Anyway, this car is boring give me some more of this. And boobs, three boobs is defiantly a positive to mutation.

I love VW’s as much as the next guy but..

without comments

Okay so when I saw the VW Scirocco (I still can’t say that word, no one can.) parked up in the local pub and beer garden, I couldnt take my eyes off of it. Never much of a dub fan before that car came out, there is just something about it. More agressive, smooth but without looking too bubbly, I thought to my self, its a real good looking car.

I was wrong. This car looks amazing, especially the GT4.

Speaking of too much time on your hands… RC Planes anyone?

RC Bi Plane

parkzone sukhoi + spare wing

Who’d have thought these little things were so popular. This one is owned by my colleague, apparently its quite tricky to fly. I believe him.

Once you add an extra wing to the thing, it happens to be much  easier to fly, straight into a tree…

Way too much time on your hands?

without comments

Been a while since I posted, its starting to get to be a habit, didn’t even bother opening tweet deck today either. What’s happening to me?

I did however find that some people have far too much time on their hands. Far too much.

I’ve got to say I am really quite envious, if I had half as much time to be this creative with a huge amount of dead insects id be a happier person.

Who has more time on their hands, someone who draws fly senarios, or someone with enough time to build a replica Japanese battleship out of lego?
