Speaking of too much time on your hands… RC Planes anyone?

Who’d have thought these little things were so popular. This one is owned by my colleague, apparently its quite tricky to fly. I believe him.
Once you add an extra wing to the thing, it happens to be much easier to fly, straight into a tree…
I spent 25 minutes with him shaking and climbing said tree, trying to get the plane to drop 25 foot to safety without landing on the car parked below and smashing into a large mess.
You see this is a parkzone sukhoi (click it, you can buy them here) and normally, it wouldn’t have that extra top wing fixed to it. Oh no, ladies and gentlemen this is modified. Modified so it flys slower, turns sharper, and gets stuck in trees much, much easier.
Sadly we didn’t get any pictures of the plane lodged firmly in the branches before we eventually knocked it out of the tree by punting a football towards the sky.
For someone who works all day, then goes home to a fairly young child he seems to have enough time to stick wings and jazz to his rc planes…
I wonder how many other people mod their rc planes?
